bumps on head

l*ldybug said: Hi Everyone, I have a 6 month old Weimaraner with many (25+) bumps on her head. I thought they were black fly bites (two weeks ago) but they have not gone away. The bumps are semi hard and some of them have a scab on them. I thought they would disappear after a few days... Does anyone else have a dog with this type of problem? Any suggestions? I will consider the vet early next week. Thank you.

l*bbritlover said: I have never heard of that condition. It sounds like some kind of bites or a skin condition. I would get the pup to the vet though at the earliest possible date. You certainly dont want her to suffer and that could be the case now. Plus you want to be sure to catch whatever it is early. Young pups have a hard time fighting off difficult diseases and you certainly dont want to lose your pup Im sure. I know that sounds a bit serious on my part but its better to be safe than sorry!

B*sterSmith said: I have experienced this one time. However, not on the head. One of Brit pups got into some prickly plants in south Texas and suffered some minor scratches. She then went under a fence into a cow pasture, and ran through some manure. Bacteria got into the scratches and a staff infection resulted. A couple of injections and some oral antibiotics cleared it up. DON'T DELAY IN GETTING YOUR DOG TO THE VET!!!
